1. Who we are
UltimateCalc is operated from India and is available to anyone, anywhere. For anything to do with this policy, contact us at contact@ultimatecalc.in.
2. What we do not collect
Most of what a privacy policy usually has to disclose does not apply here, because the site is built not to need it:
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for or log in to. We hold no usernames, passwords, names or profiles.
- Your calculations are not sent to us. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The figures you type - a loan amount, a date of birth, a weight - are processed on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
- Copy, PDF and WhatsApp sharing stay on your device. Copying a result uses your clipboard, the PDF is generated in your browser, and sharing to WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with the text pre-filled. None of these send anything to us.
- The newsletter form is not yet connected. As the note beneath it says, an address entered there is not stored or sent anywhere. When sign-up goes live, this policy will be updated to say what happens to the address.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
3. What is stored on your device
The site keeps two small pieces of information in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device, are never sent to us, and can be removed at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings:
ultimatecalc:theme- Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.ultimatecalc:saved- Holds results you saved with the Save button on a calculator, so they are there when you come back.
Neither is a cookie and neither identifies you. Which cookies the site does and does not use is set out separately in the Cookie Policy.
4. Server logs
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, it may record standard request information when a page is served - your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure, to diagnose faults and to prevent abuse. They are retained for a limited period according to Vercel's own policies, and we do not use them to identify or profile individual visitors.
5. Advertising
UltimateCalc is free to use and is funded by advertising. We display ads served by Google AdSense. This is the part of the site that involves third-party data collection, so it is worth being precise about:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to show you ads based on your visit to this site and to other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- How Google uses data when you use a site that shows its ads is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Advertising cookies are set only on pages where ads actually load. If a page shows no ads, it sets none.
Ads are never placed above the calculator on a phone: the tool always loads first. We do not pass your calculator inputs to any advertising service.
6. Affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links - for example to a lender or an insurer next to a relevant calculator. If you follow one and go on to buy or sign up, we may earn a commission from that company at no extra cost to you. The company or its affiliate network may set a cookie on their site to record that you arrived from ours. We do not receive any personal details about you from these arrangements, and an affiliate relationship never changes the numbers a calculator produces.
7. Analytics
To understand which calculators are used and whether the site performs well, we may use an analytics service such as Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics. When one is active, it collects information such as the pages you visit, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you arrived at the site. This data is aggregated; we look at totals and trends, not at individuals. The Cookie Policy lists the analytics cookies involved and how to decline them.
8. Consent and your choices
- Where the law requires consent before non-essential cookies are set - including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland - we will ask for it before loading advertising or analytics services, and you can use the site without agreeing.
- You can block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time. The calculators keep working; you would lose your saved theme and saved results.
- You can turn off personalised ads through the Google and industry links in section 5. Ads may still appear, but they will not be based on your browsing.
9. Children
The site is a general-audience reference tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal information through accounts or forms, we do not knowingly hold any data about children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in some other way, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data about you, and to complain to a data protection authority. In practice the only personal data we hold ourselves is what appears in short-lived server logs, but if you want to exercise any of these rights, write to contact@ultimatecalc.in and we will respond. Data that Google collects for advertising is controlled through Google's own tools, linked above.
11. Changes to this policy
When the site starts doing something new with data - connecting the newsletter, switching on analytics, adding an ad network - this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
