Every calculator on UltimateCalc shows its formula and its working so you can see exactly how a result was reached. That transparency is the point of the site - but it does not turn a result into advice. This page sets out what a result is, what it is not, and where its limits are.

1. General information only

The calculators and the explanations beside them are provided for general information and education. A result is a general formula applied to the figures you typed in. It knows nothing about your circumstances, your contract, your local rules or your health beyond those figures. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, medical or any other kind of professional advice, and using the site does not create any professional or advisory relationship between you and us.

Before you act on a result in a way that matters, confirm it with the bank, tax authority, doctor or other professional concerned. Their figures, not ours, are the ones that apply to you.

2. Financial calculators

Loan, EMI, interest and similar calculators use the standard formulas that lenders and textbooks use, and they assume those formulas are applied exactly - a fixed rate, equal instalments, interest compounding at the stated interval. A real loan may differ:

  • lenders round differently, charge processing fees, add insurance, or change the rate during the term;
  • a “floating” or “variable” rate means the instalment shown is only the starting figure;
  • prepayments, missed payments and moratoriums change the schedule.

Treat the result as a close estimate for planning and comparison. The amount you will actually pay is the one in your loan agreement.

3. Tax calculators

Tax rates, slabs, thresholds and exemptions are set by governments and change - often every year, sometimes mid-year. We keep the rules for each country in one reviewed place, each with the date it took effect, and update them when they change. Even so, a calculator may lag behind a recent budget or ruling, may not cover every deduction, surcharge, cess or credit that applies to you, and cannot know your residency status or filing category. Use tax results to understand roughly where you stand, then rely on the official calculator of your tax authority or a qualified tax professional for the figure you file.

4. Health calculators

Body-metric calculators such as BMI produce screening figures, not diagnoses. BMI in particular is a simple ratio of weight to height: it does not distinguish muscle from fat, it is not designed for children, pregnant women, athletes or older adults, and the healthy ranges it uses are population averages that vary by ethnicity. A figure in any band - including “healthy” - says nothing about your actual health. Nothing on this site is a substitute for a consultation with a doctor, and you should not start, stop or change any treatment, diet or exercise programme because of a number a calculator gave you.

5. Date, age and everyday calculators

Date calculators follow the Gregorian calendar and standard conventions for months of different lengths and leap years; an official body - a school, an employer, a visa office - may count differently for its own purposes. Percentage, discount, tip and similar calculators are exact for the figures entered but round to the precision shown, so a shop or a restaurant may arrive at a figure a few paise or cents different.

6. Country settings

Where a calculator offers a country choice, choosing one changes the currency, number formatting and any country-specific rules the calculator uses. It does not make the result an official figure for that country, and a country not listed is not supported rather than assumed to work the same way.

7. Accuracy and errors

The arithmetic behind every calculator is tested against known-good figures before it is published, and the working is shown precisely so mistakes can be caught. We still make no warranty that any result is accurate, complete or current, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on one - the Terms of Use set this out in full. If you believe a calculator is wrong, tell us at contact@ultimatecalc.in; a report with the inputs you used is the fastest way to get it fixed.

8. Advertising, affiliate links and external sites

Ads on the site are chosen and served by the advertising network, not by us, and an ad's appearance next to a calculator is not a recommendation. Some pages carry affiliate links, from which we may earn a commission; these are commercial arrangements and, again, not recommendations, and they never influence a calculator's result. External sites we link to are not under our control and have their own terms, policies and standards of accuracy.
